Mexican Bola Plain Heart
About the Mexican Bola
The Mexican Bola is an item of jewellry designed especially for pregnant mums-to-be and their unborn baby. It is a small, silver-plated chime ball on a simple cord which hangs at the level of the bump, either under or over clothing. It is most effective when worn from 20 weeks of pregnancy, and the gentle chime is thought to help soothe baby in the womb, creating an association of comfort with the sound, which can be continued after birth and through feeding.
Generations of Mexican mothers have worn this type of necklace to help soothe their unborn babies.
How does it work?
The bola produces tiny chimes from inside the pendant. From approximately 20 weeks your baby can hear sounds and, when the bola is worn low over the tummy, will hear the gentle chimes of the bola as Mum goes about her normal daily business. The benefit of the bola is that the same chimes will be heard after birth if Mum continues to wear the bola, giving the baby a feeling of security and familiarity.
A gift for a Mum-to-be
By choosing a Mexican Bola as your gift to an expectant mum you will be not only be giving something that may be of huge benefit and comfort for both mum and baby, but also a thoughtful piece of jewellry which can be worn beyond pregnancy, and can be passed down through generations or amongst friends, creating its own unique story and history. The Mexican Bola is sent in it's own cotton draw-string pouch with the cord attached ready for use, and an information card is included.
